Adler News: Full Weekend for the Adler Mannheim

After their back to back wins last Friday and Saturday the Adler are now looking at three away games in four days. The Adler are taking nine points into the games this weekend after three wins and no loses in the European Trophy Competition.

Last Friday the Adler won a home game on the road against HC Kometa Brno. The Adler were winning the game one to nothing going into the third period. After a wild and goal rich third period the Adler came out on top 5-4. On Saturday, Felix Bruckmann found himself in goal for the second time in two days due to an unspecified muscle injury of Freddie Brathwaite. The Adler defense played a strong game on Saturday against HC CSOB Pojistovna Pardubice. Bruckmann earned a shutout keeping his cage clean despite 42 shots on goal for Pardubice. The Adler offence were only able to put 13 shots against the Pardubice goal but it was enough for the Adler to secure a one nothing victory.

Mannheim has reacted to the injury of Brathwaite by signing Danish goalie Patrick Galbraith to a day-by-day contract backing up Bruckmann. He has experience in one of the Swedish leagues as well as being the starting goalie for Team Denmark.

The Adler are playing in Sweden this week and will start there by facing off Thursday night against Linkopings HC. Linkopings HC has played four games with no wins in regulation and a total of three points, two from an overtime win and one from a shootout loss. They are currently in fifth place in the South Division.

Friday the opponent will be HV 71 Jonkoping who is currently in third place in the division with four games played and seven points. Two wins in regulation and one overtime loss.
Saturday the Adler square off against the Frolunda Indians. The Indians are in the West Division and have played five games with a total of nine points. Two wins in regulation and one each shootout win and loss.

The Adler currently hold first place in the South Division with three games played and nine points. All games were won in regulation. The Adler’s DEL rival the Ice Bear from Berlin are in the West Division and are in fifth place with four games played and four points. One win in regulation and one overtime loss.

The Adler will have one more game on the road on the first of September before they play their first game of the year in the SAP Arena on 4 September. Tickets are available for this game through the SAP Ticket office and the Adler Store in Mannheim as well as on line at https://tickets.saparena.de/internetverkauf/start.aspx?EventRefID=1078&language=de
